Here are a few tips;

WHEN to eat for losing weight...

• Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That's the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight... you must eat (the right things, of course)
• Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
• Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
OK, one apple after 18:00
• Don't starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
• Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast--eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.

WHAT to drink for losing weight...

• Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the "hunger" sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don't believe the slogan "water makes me fat". Beside being stupid... you might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.
• Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squeezed!
Don't drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, Spite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.

Exercise for losing weight...

• If you want quicker results - exercise would be good.
• Don't just sit in front of the TV and eat peanuts...
I guarantee THIS won't work for your weight loss...
• Start a regular exercise program and stick with it. Don't be afraid of those sweat suits and Lycra pants!
• Start swimming. Swimming is an excellent exercise to get involved with, since it increases blood flow and uses muscles we don't regularly use. Start a swimming program and try to do it 3 times a week. You will feel excellent and rejuvenated.
• Choose an exercise program that you enjoy, and don't shun the unconventional. For instance, did you know that regular vigorous dancing is exercise too?
• Also Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

Good luck!
Hope this helps~
References :
I'll go out on a limb here and assume your body is used to burning sugar instead of fat. That being said, you are constantly replenishing your supply of energy -- if you burn 200 calories of sugar, have a honey bun and you're back to where you started. You need to train your body to burn fat, which is much harder to replenish and leads to more permanent weight loss. Chemicals such as nicotine (yes, it's why teenage girls smoke) for appetite suppression do more harm than good. You might lose weight, but hey, anyone fighting cancer loses weight.

From one of my previous posts-- I'm too lazy to write it all out again....

Work out smarter, not harder. Low intensity workouts (elliptical, running, biking) where your heart rate stays in Zone 2 (60-70% of maximum heart rate) burns calories at a rate 85% calories from fat and 15% glycogen. The higher your heart rate or the more intense the workout the lower the ratio of Fat to Glycogen(sugar) becomes.

If you run 3 miles in 23 minutes and your heart is pounding at the end, you've burned about 480 calories of which probably 400 cal. came from sugar.

If you WALK 3 miles in 45 minutes, and you feel like you could walk another 3 miles no problem, then chances are you burned 400 cal. that came from fat stores (which is harder for your body to replace) and 80 cal came from sugar. (The number of calories burned is essentially the same in either case because you do the same amount of work -- the laws of physics are hard to change.)

LOW intensity exercise for the duration is the way to go for weight loss. This BOOSTS your fat burning metabolism. 2 ladies in my office lost 27 and 30lbs in 5 months. They walk EVERYWHERE. (About 4-5 miles a day), cut out junk food, lots of fruit and veggies, and started favoring foods low on the GLYCEMIC INDEX (e.g. Sweet potatoes instead of idaho potatoes).

Losing weight is as hard as getting off the couch and walking to do your errands instead of driving 500 meters to the grocery store. Stick to a plan.

There is one more thing you can try in conjunction with your low intensity workouts. Sign up for a 5K or 10K race -- and train for it slowly but by increasing distance/speed by no more than 10% per week you should be able to make a proud showing in 6 weeks or so--then you won't be a 'dieter' anymore. You'll be an Athlete and thinking like one.
References :
I train and compete in 1/2 distance and full distance triathlons.

The pattern for losing those unwanted pounds is easy - eat less and workout more - the issues surface when we actually try to put that into practice! There are loads of temptations in the real world aren't there?! The only diet which definitely delivered for me was wu-yi tea, it can be viewed in the resource box below, they have a limited number of free trials in stock, it was featured in Reader's Digest and USA Today. I worked off 20 pounds, it definitely does work!
References :
http://dostros.apwebware.com
