I have a jiujitsu competition coming up in November 8th and I want to lose about 15 pounds before then. Does anyone have any methods to help me lose weight by then? Please help me out, thank you.
Yes I would like to do this, I just found out about the competition a few days ago and I am not very muscular so I thought dropping would only help.

Man… that’s real hard to do because you will get weak from all the work and less food. This is what you face: 15 pounds in four weeks is 3 3/4 pounds a week or 1,875 calories used up PER DAY! The average male needs about 2,400 calories per day to stay healthy. How are you gonna survive on about 525 calories per day for a month? If you cut off one arm it may be enough. Next time start reducing earlier. Sorry I don’t have any better news for you.

Do a lot of cardio and change your eating habits. Rather than having 3 meals a day, break them into 5 small meals. Drink plenty of water. This is a given but eat healthy.

Do you HAVE to lose 15 pounds or DO YOU want to lose 15 pounds? If you have to you should have known this in plenty of time to prepare. If you want to I wouldn’t lose that much in such a short time. It will tire you out faster during competition.
Stationary bike, treadmill, steam room. You will have to work hard and watch what you eat.
Good luck in your competition.

Start eating tiny amounts every 2 hours. I mean, like a handful of walnuts or something like that, every 2 hours. Still eat carbs before you train but not at any other time. Don’t eat carbs with dinner. Just lean protein and vegetables. Don’t overdo it on the protein. One chicken breast is reasonable, but not 4 pieces of chicken.

You’ll probably lose part of the weight you want by dieting, and then you’ll need to sweat out part of it in the sauna before your weigh-in.

Good luck. : ) I have a fight on the 8th myself, so I will be suffering with you.

Hmmmm, Atama open in Spring huh?

I have 8 more pounds to go myself. What division are you fighting in?….. before I give you any advice :)

Just kidding. But if you are just 2-3 pounds near your target weight, just hit the sauna for 20 minutes. Until then: cut out soda, juice (yes, juice!) and any drink that is high in calories. Cutting out 2 cokes a day will be 2 pounds or so.
