My dog is 15 pounds overweight, and we never walk her because we have an absolutely full schedule. So I’m starting to wake up early to walk her, and walk her at night as well. How long should these walks be, each, and any other tips for helping her lose weight? Serious answers, please, and thanks!
I tell people that over weight dogs need less food and more exercise just like over weight people. Walking her and playing with her will help but you also need to decrease the amount of food that you’re feeding her. Do not free feed but feed her a measured amount of food twice daily. Do not use the recommended amount on the back of the dog food bag as the dog food companies usually recommend over feeding and people have a tendency to feed the amount to what the dog weighs right now instead of what they should weigh. Feed one cup of a good quality food per 20 pounds of weight of what the dog should weigh. Sometimes you have to decrease the amount further depending on the dog. The amount includes all food items including treats and table food. Anything that goes into the dog’s mouth must be measured and included in the total amount fed. If you find that she still is not losing weight after several months take her to your vet and have her thyroid tested. A hypothyroid dog will not lose weight no matter what you do. You need to weigh your dog every two weeks so that you can adjust the feeding and exercise accordingly. You want the weight loss to be slow. Since you did not give me the size of dog I cannot give you a recommendation as to weekly weight loss. 15 pounds off of a 30 pound dog would be different than 15 pounds off of an 85 pound dog.
I am 5 ft 3 in and I weigh 124 pounds. This is healthy weight but I want to tone down a little. If not 15 pounds then at least 10 pounds.
My question is how do I do that?
I have very little time to exercise but i guess i could manage. Most of my weight is fat so i seriously have to lose some of it. And yes, i do NOT have an eating disorder.
Thanks a lot! if you have any tips that would be awesome.
I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.
1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.
2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.
3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.
4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week
5. Take starting measurements as well as weight - sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds
6. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks
7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s - this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)
8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic
9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food
10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison
11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts - make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started
12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet
Ok so where I live, it’s almost always raining. When it’s not raining, I go out for a 20 minutes walk everyday. But now since it’s almost winter, it’s going to start snowing everyday. So I won’t be able to go for a walk. So how can I lose 15 pounds over the winter?
Thanks!
eat celery
I work out every day for about 20-25 minutes on the treadmill running and walking and do squats, push ups,sit ups and all tht. I also do about 2 miles of running for p.e two times a week. If i keep this routine going when do u think i’ll lose 15 pounds? Pls and thx!
well i dont no but this is what i would do
–always eat breakfast, it is proven people who eat breakfast actually weigh less.
–eat small but frequent meals.
–eat every 2 hours 4-5 times a day.
–drink 10-12 cups of water a day.
–eat 5-8 servings of fruit or vegetables a day.
–increase your protein intake eat/drink stuff that has a lot of protein bcuz it builds muscles and muscles burn fat i would say at least drink three cups of milk a day.
most of these things will increase your metabolism and the workouts make u lose even more!!
I wouldn’t stop eating, I’d be eating 1200 calories a day. And I’d be running 2-3 miles a day and pilates a few times a week. Is it possible to lose 15 pounds in 5 weeks?
Yeah it’s very possible. Just make sure youre getting the right nutrition. You could probably go with 1400-1500 calories and still see results because of your workout routine. If youre super restricting your diet but pushing yourself hard, you body will go into survival mode and start eating away at itself(muscles, fat etcc..) and youll run the risk of putting weight back of fast too. If youre already fairly thin, weight loss will be slower. The heavier you are the more calories you burn
I need to lose 15 pounds so i can weigh 135 pounds for wrestling season for my high school, i weigh about 148 right now, so not exactly 15 pounds. What should i eat should i only run and not weight lift?

I want to lose 15 pounds before school starts. Or like tone it up
basically my butt and my lower abs region.
i would recommend swimming, walking and jogging / running. Swimming especially, as it is very good at losing weight, especially with quick results…
Hope this helps!
I’m 5′61/2 and 204 pounds and I’m trying to lose 15 pounds. Can I do it with pushups or situps or do I need to run to lose the weight? Before I picked up the excess weight I was solid, not a lot of definition but the muscles were there. Now I have fat on top of muscle and it’s kind of hard to get back to where I was. Any suggestions?
You can do that too, but what helped my family member without exercise was just eating healthy. You should be eating fruits, vegetables, meat, and drink milk. This really helps, but if you do want to exercise I would go on youtube and search for exercise or how to lose weight videos. Good Luck!
Okay, well school gets back in in like 30 days, I weigh 160 and i am 6ft1, how to lose 15 pounds in 30 days?

amputation
I’m 155 and 5′11. I have a belly and really want to get rid of it before school starts. I’ve been eating two health meals per day. One is a Special K bowl (110 calories) the other a weight watchers (about 350 calories). I also run 4 miles per day, and do 300 sit ups per day. Is this enough to lose 15 pounds before September 4?
It’s possible, but it’s not healthy at all. You are not eating enough food, and when you don’t eat enough food, you don’t just lose fat, you lose muscle. Your body starts eating away at the muscle and fat around your heart, organs, and brain. Living on a starvation diet is not worth it. You should have three balanced meals a day with snacks if you need them. You can do this and still lose weight, you just have to keep your calorie intake at an amount that will help you lose weight (I don’t know how old you are, so use an online calculator…but if you’re a teenager, keep in mind that you should eat more than what that calculator tells you because you are still growing). It is only healthy to lose 1-2 lbs a week, so it would be unwise to lose 15 in a month. Aim for 4-8 lbs.
